Upon receiving your application details, an installer will match your data and get in touch with you.
To determine whether the home is suitable for insulation, a home survey will be needed. By doing so, you will be able to learn more about the insulation and what type of insulation is best suited to your needs.

Book An Install Date
As soon as the survey is completed, the installer will set an installation date and submit the claim through the GBIS scheme. There will be no need for you to process the application.

What is GBIS?
The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) is a government initiative launched in July 2023 to help UK households improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs. With a budget of £1 billion, it aims to assist around 300,000 homes by subsidising insulation installations. Participants can save £300 to £400 annually on energy bills. Priority is given to low-income households and those in less energy-efficient homes (EPC rating D or below and Council Tax bands A-D in England, A-E in Scotland and Wales). Energy suppliers are required to support customers with measures like loft and cavity wall insulation, covering installation costs fully or partially based on eligibility. Eligible households can check their qualifications on GOV.UK or through participating installers, followed by a survey and installation coordination.

Determine Insulation Needs
Assess whether your home requires cavity wall insulation or loft insulation. The scheme covers either one for free. Your cavities should be empty, or your existing loft insulation should be less than 100 mm deep (height of joists).

Ensure your home is in Council Tax Bands A–D. This is a requirement without exception. You can find your council tax band here.
